1992 Camry

Thanks for the reply on sudden acceleration. I tried cleaning the throttte and everything around and it worked. Now I have a different problem, car runs beautiful but if I turn the car off after starting it once it will not start for approximately 12 to 14 hours after it was first running. If I start the car in the morning and work my usual 8 hours I will not be able to turn car on, so I usually wait till the next morning. If I turn car on and shut it off a minute after it was turned on ,it still does not turn on. When I first start the car, it starts like a champ, right on the money the problem is restarting afterwards, Any Ideas? Thanks fellows!

A car need fuel, air and spark to run, eliminate areas, see if it gets spark, pull a plug wire and with a extra plug test it. If no spark check coil first if thats ok there is a module maybe in the distributor to check.

Check the distributor...?

I'm assuming the battery's working ok...? The starter motor starts with no problems, right?

If you just got the car, did you change the spark plugs?

Hmmm,..sounds like something is sticking, which requires a long time to reset for the next start. This could be difficult to find. You will need to take it to a good tuning place. I remember an EFI car which had crud around the fuel-pump pick-up. Once it sat over night, the crud fell away from the pickup,..the it would start OK. Once running the pump managed to suck enough fuel thru the crud,..but once it was stopped, the pump could not produce sufficient fuel-pressure until the crud settled again. The same can happen to fuel-filters.

Check the ignition as indicated. If OK, get the fuel-pressure checked.

Or overheating, the computer ignition module on my boat would do the same thing.

Check the coolant temperature sensor. Sounds like it runs fine cold - but the ECM isnt' getting the signal to start when warm.
