***2000 Solara - Power Seat Movement Issue***

Hello,

The driver's power seat in my 2000 Solara has a rocking and twisting motion when starting and stopping. I've taken it to the Toyota dealer

3 times for this probme with no results and a "That's just the way it is." response from the service manager on my last visit. What can I do to resolve this problem? I need suggestions, answers, or solutions because the dealership/service manager, and the Toyota representative he said he spoke to about the problem, said they will not replace the seat and there is nothing they can do to fix it. HELP ME!!!!

John

The reason they do not want to repair you seat for free, it seems to me, is because the vehicle is out of warranty. I'll bet they will gladly replace the part causing the seat it move if you will pay the tab. Manufactures have no obligation to maintain a vehicle forever.

Thats why I try to keep on top of any issues with my vehicles and get them fixed ASAP. Then again, i'm a Quality Assurance Engineer so testing stuff and finding faults come naturally for me. One of the reasons I bought a Toyota as they historically have less problems then other brands.

I think the seats were made at the Johnson Controls plant in Milton, Ontario (near Toronto). Maybe you could contact them directly?
