2001 Camry Parking Brake - Button Broke?

Ok, strange question: :!:

I put on the parking brake on my wife?s 2001 Camry the other day, and the button used to release/set the brake broke off into my hand. 8O

Does anyone know where to get a replacement button (or any other part used to fix it) / and/or how to take out the p-brake to replace it? Without that button, I have no ability to set the brake, and the transmission is taking all the load. I can pull up the handle, but nothing is keeping it there (catching the teeth on the p-brake gear)

Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dave Wisdom

For my girlfriends 82 toyota cressida the button broke off. Then I replaced it with one from the junkyard and the plastic button broke off. On the cressida there is like a threaded metal rod so I got a 2 inch long wooden dowel, drilled a hole to accept thread and just screwed it in and it has worked fine for many months now.
