93 camry won't start

4 cyl engine with 265K miles. Runs great when it starts with good power & mileage.

Turn key, no click, no crank. Battery is at full power and all electronics work. Have replaced the electrical switch behind the key cylinder already. Could it be the key cylinder itself? Key does not fall out, is not loose. Any ideas? TIA

How do you know battery is full power, 12v is 10% charged 13.8 v or so is 100%. Just because the lights light means nothing. Could be bad battery , dirty terminals, ground, or cable to battery. Start with the simple stuff, battery and cables.

and then go (as Big Jim suggests) to the starter. Pull it and get it checked at Autozone or another parts house which will test it free. That was my problem with my '97 Camry, although it started with intermittent starts and finally didn't want to catch at all. If you're sure the battery is up to snuff, that's the next place to try.

=== Most common problem on high mileage starters is that the copper contacts in the solenoid wear from repeated high amperage during start. You can replace the (2) copper contacts separately for around $20. Could also change the cylindrical part of the solenoid that contacts them if you want to be more complete.
