Camry slow accelaration

2000 camry 83,500 miles

When car is started (cold after overnight) I see stalled pick up (slow accelartion) for few minutes

Same thing happens after stop light or stop sign...

Ocassionally, at the stop light rpm needle wiggles as much as 300--400 rpm

Car drives fine on highway regardless of speed (if you contineously drive without stopping)

Just replaced spark plugs, wires (both NGK) and PCV

Consider cleaning your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve:

I have not tried this guy's approach. If it works for you it would be a significant time savings.

On my 4 cyl Camrys, I've been able to take the IAC off the car and clean it with carb cleaner. It works a treat.

Hi,

I have recently been thru about the same problem on my

1995 2.2 Camry..105.000miles ...no problems to date I purchased it new.

But it was now Bad climbing on hills no zip in it at all. I changed the Ignition leads..Plugs...Fuel Filter...Rotor arm in Distributor. Nothing made any real difference.

I was told it may be the O2/LAMBDA sensor in the silencer. Toyota wants GB£140 for the part only. I purchased one from the web for GB£38. It fitted correctly and that was my problem, the change was immediate. Back to my old Camry. And I am sure my fuel efficiency is better now to. At GB£1.36 per LITRE = GB£6.12 per gallon or US$9.80 a gallon. 4.5 ltrs. If you need more info on the O2 Sensor just ask.
