CD player ruins my MP3 CDs

I am experiencing a problem with my CD player, and I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem, and if so what I can do about it.

I place some MP3 speeches on a CD so that I can play them on my CD player in my Camry. They play well for a very short while. But after about 2-3 playings, the CD becomes unreadable. Th CD player seems to be ruining the CD. (I can't even read the CD on my PC afterwards.)

I've had this problem with 2 Camry's. I had it with a 2007 (which got totaled in an accident), and now I have the same problem in my 2009 Camry.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a Camry problem?

Try switching to a different brand of blank CD. Does the problem persist?

OK, I'll give that a try. Right now I'm using Memorex. Any suggestions for a better brand?

Burn the disc at 1/2 your burner's or disc max speed the lower of the two.

and there are no scratches on it from the machine, is disk re write able, is it finalised. Is it unreadable on other machines.

I'd have to look 'em up on the web. I haven't burned CDs in awhile.

Some players (not just in cars) have trouble with CD-RWs and only want CD-Rs.

Some CD burners don't do a good job burning disks. I had a Memorex burner I bought from Fry's 10 years ago that would cause pops when playing CD-Rs on regular players. A BIOS/Flash upgrade fixed that.

Try different media, try different CD burners on different computers, try CD-Rs instead of CD-RWs...
