Deals on the Toyota ECP Extended Warranty

Good Day,

I currently own a 2002 Camry LE V6 which has the 48 month, 100,000 KM ECP Warranty, which is still active. I would like to extend the ECP coverage to

72 month/160,000 KM. I know the cost to this is $1300 + taxes (15%)

Does anyone have any contacts or know of how I can get a discount on this? Please email me at snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com or reply here.

Thanks

Southeast Toyota Distributor charges a lot less but it is not officially by Toyota but should be just as good. You might try calling a dealer in NC to see if they can sell you one and whether it will be effective nationwide.

Well I am looking for deals in the Toronto, CANADA region but thanks for your prompt response Art.

Out of curiousity, did you get an extended warranty on your Avalon?

If you warranty a Toyota factory warranty extended you can buy it here. It will be honored at any Toyota dealer in the US. Not sure about Canada.

From what I've read shopping around can save you quite a bit of money with these extended plans. Do a google and see what you come up with.

Nope. I usually buy the warranties 2nd or 3rd year if I like the car. I do not like the Avalon so I did not buy one because I don't plan on keeping the car too long. We also hardly drive the car. Only 20k miles on a 2001. By the way, I do believe you get some money back when you sell the car and it still has some warranty on it. Sure makes a 6.5 year old car easier to sell privately when you tell them it comes with a 6 month warranty if they pay the $50 transfer fee.

Many dealers make MORE selling extended warranties than they do selling the vehicles. Get my drift? Hell will freeze over before I buy an extended warranty on ANYthing. Sucker bait.

Well my Camry need a modified throttle body kit to the tune of $1600. The warranty I had cost me about $800 so it ended up saving me $800.

It is one of those things that if you need repairs and it is covered by the ECP warranty, your happy to have it.

Statistically, the need for warranties on Honda/Toyota products are rare.

How could that be possible??? That sounds like 2x both parts and labor! Looks to me like the parts should be under $400. How many hours of labor, more than $400 worth?

Assuming the job would have cost you that much...

I dought you will recoup the warranty cost they are designed to make THEM money not save you, Toys are well made and do not need that BS extra cost. your car was made to run, and run, if you do not maintain it your warranty is VOID. Did you ever examine Recomended maintenance, do so it is extensive. Go without your money will be better spent. Unless you owned my Lemon Caddy DHS only a 50000$ pain in the ass.

Or any other brand for that matter. The statistics for the industry says the pay out for ALL extended warranties is less than 1%, that pay out more than the cost of the warranty and the deductibles. Save the money you would pay for the plan and the interest in a bank account, odds are you will come out ahead

Ahh, CA $... Still, that part cost HURTS!

Ever hear of Glenwood, Hillspring, Pincher Creek, Lethbridge? Bunch of family around there. Nice country. Bit around Calgary and Edmonton also. Not so nice. :)
