Funniest Camry ever

Just saw a new Camry with a rear spoiler. What a joke.

It's just there to hold the center brake light.

Are you sure it wasn't just the trunk lid open? ;-)

No it was an obvious add on. Someone must have thought it made his Camry look cool.. Made it look silly. Sure hope it isn't factory option. Seeing one was bad enuf.

Some new Camry models go over 175 mph, so you need the spoiler for downforce.

PS... the V6 model is even faster!

sure it can... if you drop it off a really big cliff :D

Are you sure you didn't mean 175 kph? Even that is awfully fast --about 115 mph and I do not see any need to drive that fast even if you could get a Camry up to it.

175 kph = 108.7 mph.

For comparison, the new Corollas are speed governed at 112 mph. I've bumped the vehicle speed governor in my '03 Corolla several times ... while humming "Nearer my God to Thee." (shhhhhhh).

I was in a stock '96 XLE V6 at 142 MPH... then the speedo stopped moving , or it was maxed.. oh, and no wing :-P

i have a friend who has a camry exactly like mine.

1996 LE with 4 cylinder engine. he got clocked by a NY state trooper friend at 130 mph. proves to me the thing is faster than you might think. i have found mid-range acceleration aint much to write home about but once you get it over 80 mph, it doesnt want to quit.. has scared me a couple of times.

as far as a spoiler goes.. other than race track, i see absolute no use for them on any car. assuming one keeps somewhere near the legal speed limits.. hahaha

cheers

That's 175 MPH.... many run 175 KPH in the 1/4 mile!

Camrys are REALLY fast, but the only way to pop a wheelie is to do a burnout in reverse and lift up the back wheels.

The Solara model looks kinda strange with factory optional wheelie bars in the front!
