has maintained the top spot in Gaywheels.com's most-researched list for first quarter of 2007. The US-based website is considered a leading website for gay car customers and auto enthusiasts in the US. The Saab 9-3 continued its march up the list and replaced the Toyota Camry as the second most-researched new vehicle on Gaywheels.com.

Continuing the quarterly reporting started in early 2006, Gaywheels.com's data shows specifically which vehicles the GLBT (Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender) consumer is considering when researching vehicles online....

Gaywheels.com Top 10 Most Researched Vehicles:

  1. Toyota Yaris
  2. Saab 9-3
  3. Toyota Camry
  4. Volkswagen Jetta
  5. Mazda MX-5 - Miata
  6. Volkswagen Eos
  7. Volkswagen Rabbit
  8. Dodge Caliber
  9. Audi A3
  10. Toyota Corolla

Although information, specifications and pricing on all new car and truck models are available on Gaywheels.com, each vehicle on the most- researched list is from a 'gay-friendly brand' according to Gaywheels. Gaywheels.com classifies all vehicle manufacturers as gay friendly or not based on their corporate policies for offering domestic-partner benefits to their employees in the US.

"Gay consumers as a group are more loyal to companies that demonstrate fairness and equality to the GLBT community," LaMuraglia said. "Gaywheels.com's most-researched vehicles are all from automakers that are gay friendly. This clearly shows that when armed with facts about vehicles and the companies that build them, gay consumers are more likely to shop and spend with brands that support their community."...

Is that the happy wheels available from Mickey D's?

Given that only a tiny proportion of gays actually *look* any different from anyone else, do they state they are gay when buying a car? And if so why? The only difference in their needs I can think of is they're less likely to need a 'family' model, ie one most suitable for kids.

Of course this is a US survey and nothing surprises me there...

I spotted a Street Ka on Sunday with the plate S10 GAY.

Looking at the driver, he definitely was.

Would it make you feel less of a man if an SLK was listed?

Just because I'm supposed to be 'making up' for something. Of course, if anybody really wants to *chack*, I'll gladly show them it's really not the case... ;)
