Help needed in removal of side-view mirror

The triangular piece should just pry off -- or slide back. There are 3 - 10mm bolts holding it on. The entire mirror has to be bought to get the outter housing. It (OEM ones) does come painted to the color of the vehicle though. The mirror glass is available separately but not the rest.

Hello all,

I have a question in regards to the removal driver's side-view mirror on my Camry. Some mongrel decided that it would be fun to side-swipe my car and break the mirror and mirror housing.

I have removed side-view mirrors from other cars that involved prising off a plastic cover panel from inside the car and removing a few screws (or nuts) that hold the mirror to the car door. How do I remove the black plastic cover panel on the inside of the Camry? The Camry appears to have a black plastic cover panel at the corner of the window that hides these screws/nuts. Is it a matter of carefully prising off the cover with a flat-bladed screw-driver?

I have tried a Google search but I cannot find specifics on the removal of the mirror for the Camry.

Is it possible to simply replace the mirror? I see a part number on the mirror itself so I assume that I can.

The car is 1999 Camry with power front windows and mirrors. It is a Camry built in Australia.

Thanking you all in advance for your replies.
