More and more are made in the US. It will be hard to find one from Japan. The problem with the 07 is with the transmission skipping gears. A potentially serious problem. I'll say wait a while and see if they can find out what exactly is the problem and work the bugs out.

The vast majority of US cars are made in Georgetown, KY. There have been some problems with auto transmissions and some engine hesitation problems. I'd wait for the 2008s ....or better yet, try to find a low mileage (or leftover new) late 2005. The last of a model run is usually a lot better made than the first of a new model run, IMO.

That's precisely my point. When the 2002 2.4L first came out, there were problems with the intake manifold vabrating and generating noise. A redesigned manifold was installed later to solve the problem. Not to mention the transmission shudder on downshifts with that tranny, bad batches of catalytic converters, noisy suspension mounts, among the things. The 2006 clearly came a long way. But one can hardly find any new 2006s around.
