Leaky Valve Cover Gasket; Camry 2.5L V6

I can see oil stains on the engine block and dealership repair shop has advised that valve cover gasket(s) is leaking. Camry LE sedan with the 2.5L V6 engine. There is no substantial loss of motor oil.

During what other maintenance action would it be best to replace the gasket used at the valve covers? Or, is should this gasket replacement be done immediately ?

Provided the leak is not leaving a wet oil mark and also ending up on the garage floor as substantial little puddles,...the issue is not urgent.

While these engine use alloy rocker-covers (something our western countries shouldhave done back in the '50s on, instead of pathetic sheet metal) and as such are usually easy to seal,.some seepage is not a problem.

Bad V.C.G. would lead to a false air entry or unmeasured air entry into the intake system. Following are excerpts from different Toyota technical articles

"There are several tests which can detect false air entry into the induction system. A good visual inspection of the intake air connector pipe and connection points as well as inspection of all vacuum hoses, engine oil filler cap, and dip stick seals are a must."

"The ECU calculates basic injection duration based upon speed and air flow volume. These two inputs considered together establish an engine load factor."

"Because Fuel has a tendency to detonate under heavy load conditions, spark lead time must be decreased as manifold pressure and intake air flow increase."
