Leather seatcover, fix or replace?

Hi,

What would be the best way to make a worn leather driver's seat look as new again? Mine has some scratches at the right side, from the previous owner getting in and out of the seat. Replace the entire seat cover, or get it fixed at an upholstery shop? What about prices? Its a late 1996 V6.

TIA,

John.

Would try Leatherique before considering replacement:

The "rejuvenator oil" is worked into the surface first, allowed to soak in over night, then cleaned with "prestine clean." Repeat if needed. You will probably find this restores condition sufficiently. Especially if the leather has not been maintained, you're likely to notice quite an improvement. If you have questions, you can call by phone rather than using the Internet to order.

877-395-3366 More than other products available retail, the Leatherique will condition, soften and strenghten the leather. Works on vinyl also. Also cleans the leather which makes a big improvement in appearance, without adding an artificial gloss - just a natural luster. While the products are not inexpensive, the cost of new leather upholstery is a lot more. Well worth trying first. The product was developed in 1968 in the owner's attempt to restore "cardboard hard leather" in a 1939 Bentley. I have no affiliation with the company other than having used the products.
