New tires for a 2002 4cyl Camry

Can I get some recommendations for new tires for my camry. I have 30,000 and there is wear on both the inside and outside edges of my bridgestones. I suspect that the recommended air pressure of 29lbs is not correct. Anyhow, it is time to replace them and would appreciate your comments.

thanks

As I've said before in this or other newsgroups, I've had extremely good fortune with Goodyear Weatherhandlers (from Sears.) They track like a railroad train, and wear like iron...one pair has 50,000 on them and still look new, and the other pair with more mileage has a minor amount of visible wear. Do think about upping your pressure to at least 32, and likely 35 would be better. 29 is just too soft for good wear. IMO.

================== The correct tire pressure is posted either on the door jamb or glove compartment cover. If there is an alternate hihger pressure for fully rated loads you can also use that for minimin loads. Since I'm usually carrying 1-2 people, I use the higher pressure in front and the lower recommended pressure in back. I like the Yokohama AVID TRZ - reasonably priced, high quality, long life.

Bridgestone? The company that also makes Firestore tires that blew out at lower inflation pressures and made some SUVs roll over?

Check out the Michelin Hydroedge if you use T rated tires. Wanted these but got the Energy Plus Green (low roll resistance but doesn't grab the road as well, but with 3% better mileage) at Costco because of H and V ratings.

Costco fills tires with nitrogen if that matters to you. Also check out the sidewall thickness of these tires at the store. Michelins just feel like better constructed, stronger tires.

if they fill tires w/ nitro, do you have to go back there when you need to adjust the pressure for the tires or can regular air be added?

Bridgestone Turanza LS-T. The LS-H, V, etc have a sportier tread for more $, the "T" is appropriate for the Camry. David
