NO POWER TO IGNITER

While driving my 1990 Camry DX it just died. All attempts to restart the car was a waste of time.

I have fire everywhere but at the igniter, like the car has no gas.

Is it the igniter, or is it the computer? The computer has been replaced twice so far and the same thing keeps happening.

Is there anyone out there that know what can be causing this problem?

Thanks, Deli

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your problem, but I can tell you this:

The failure rate on the ECUs is probably less than 1/10 of 1%; you've replaced 2, the problem is not the ECU.

Does the car crank? Look for a bad ground.

Yes it cranks. If I reset the computer the car will restart momentarily, then kill.

Hmmm...again, try looking for an errant ground. Also, pose this question in alt.autos.toyota...and stay away from the OT political posts!

Sounds to me, rather than the computer, you have a sensor that has gone bad. There are a plie of sensors in all cars these days, and different failures cause different problems. I would (this is a GUESS!) check the crank position sensor. If this one is bad it can cause the probelm you describe, but so can others...
