Please help '87 radiator car still over heating

Hi there I am hoping I did not mess my mothers car up even more.. she has an '87 toyt cam the radiator had a crack on the top of it and after checking the cost of the repair I desided to give it a try. I took off the fans part way then the hoses all 4 as well as the clamps that hold it in.......I put in the ready to go radiator I bought in and reattached everything then I filled the engine with a 70/30 mix of coolent and water and then the radiator with the same. The first time I drove it a lot boiled over to the over flow so I refilled but the car is still running hot I do not think the fans are running b/c I have not heard them click on but I did not take them apart.......I am at a loss........did I forget to do something? or is there something else I should check into. Not really a mechanic... also the power stearing fluid ran out not sure if realted. and the gage needle is bumbing around in the begining when first start car Thanks for any help C

Well you use " gunk " instead of Trans Fluid in the power steering, you use the wrong antifreeze mix, you drive a overheating motor, did you ever read the Manual.

91 4 cil take Transmission fluid in the power steering, Not powersteering fluid. No wonder your Moms car is leaking in the power steering unit.

70/30 antifreeze water is not recomended in Summer 50-50 is . Antifreeze does Not conduct heat as water does therefore that is part of your cooling problem.

Get a life Get a manual and get reading before you trash Moms car. And Get some brains , a manual will put some knowledge in that melon on you shoulders .

Corky you are wrong ranslet is right 91 take trans fluid in power steering and differential and transmission on 4 cylinder automatics. For antifreeze race cars may not use antifreeze or 20% and or Redline Water Wetter for anti corosive properties that antifreeze is really needed for in summer. Antifreeze does not let a motor cool like water does, to much and it will run hotter, In winter you heater will not put out as much heat with to much Antifreeze. Dont blow up the car tonight. and relax.

HVACis Fun Not saying he is not right just that he is a mean person. I just came here for some help not to be chewed out by someone who has nothing better to do. ransley apperntly feels he has no power in his life so he has to take out his filth on someone else. I don't need it nor will I take it. So I guess this sight is not for help like most message boards just for people with no life to be mean to others. I was fallowing the directions on the bottle of antifreee no more no less, thanks for the info. I still think it is the fans.

Im not mean Corky , You are giving out damaging info , thats plain old wrong. Right on your power steering fluid container it says use ATF. Go Read it And saying 70% Antifreeze is right , Im wrong because you are in the South , well its dumb. 70% antifreeze is needed in Canada for Winter [Maybe] Grow up kid , you are the one giving bad info telling a guy to put Power Steering fluid in his car that takes ATF . Now I wonder why moms power steering is leaking. If you give out bad - wrong info you should be slammed. Thats where a manual will help you.

you are a big dumb jerk the power stearing fluid is for a different car you jerk if you were actually paying attention instead of trying to be right all the time mom's car is a an '87 toyt not a '91 and frankly calling me kid is out of line you are the one who is acting childish needing to win grow up cry baby I might have been wrong but at least I am willing to admit it and try and learn christ my question has nothing to do with what you keep bringing up. Neither car has a manual so bite me. All I did was ask a question and all you did was show what a small view of the world you have get a life get a life get alife get a life get a life get a life get a life get a life

I read all your posts. You told a guy with a 91 to use Power Steering fluid instead of the specified A.T.F. Thats Automatic Transmission Fluid . Your moms car also takes A.T.F. for the power steering. 83-91 take A.T.F. for power steering, I only have a 83-91 manual so it is likely more. And as I said before the requirements for fluid are usually on the cap or reservoir. You dont need a manual to figure out that one, do you.

And I will say again, get a manual and read it before you give more bad advise that is gonna screw up peoples cars that read your uneducated , dangerous, misinformed immature drivel, who is the dumb jerk? Me for listening to you.
