Anyone have the part number for the heater blower speed control switch on a RHD Hilux Surf (1991 Turbo Diesel)? Anyone know what other vehicle it fits, if any? (north american availability a definite plus)

What is the issue you are having with the speed control? In that year truck most of the time it is the resistor pack in the air duct that goes bad, not the switch. The resistor pack is usually held in by two screws in the duct on the passenger side near the firewall. The blower motor connector attaches between the two mounting screws. Here is a link to a similar resistor pack offered through RockAuto.com.
still sounds like an electrical problem. the heater should never get that hot.
Look - I'm a mechanic, and I know what should and should not happen. The switch fried. It is NOT a strange thing to have happen. My Mystique fried it's switch, along with several connectors, due entirely to poor connector design. The resistanc gets a bit high, it gets warm - which increases the resistance - and it gets hotter. The switch is TOAST. Found out it is NOT used on any north american market vehicles, so we have one coming in from Japan.
And I didn't Just checked to see if anyone had JDM information. I found a source that did, and the part is ordered.
