1994-1997 landcruiser questions

Ok.. im pondering the idea of buying a used 94 to 97 landcruiser either off of
ebay, autotrader.. etc..  Ive already looked up the epa gas mileage estimates,
and while 13/15 is pretty bad, its not much worse than my jeep wrangler which
is a much smaller vehicle. I noticed that its towing capacity is 5000 lbs.
Anyone use one to do much towing? Also, any specific things i should look out
for? I saw a brief mention somewhere as to a head gasket problem on the lexus
version. Thanks.
