2005 Tacoma question

I have a 2005 Tacoma regular cab. It has the infamous composite bed noise when going over major bumps. Has Toyota come up with a fix for this yet? Has anyone isolated where the noise actually comes from? It is the only noise the vehicle makes outside of being totally solid.

My 2005 Tacoma's noise is the shocks... We have speed-bumps out the $#% here and I get shock noise when going over them, both front and rear. It gets worse when cold. But all in all, a very quite truck!

I don't notice bed noises.

What noise is that?

My 4x4 Access cab makes a click, but it's got absolutely nothing to do with the bed.

The source of my noise is the rear leaf springs. Some folks have stuck rubber pads between leaf ends. I don't really worry about it.

Every one of the 20 or so vehicles I've owned has had some sort of signature "character". While I'd prefer the noise to not be there, this is by far the best built vehicle I've ever owned, so I'm happy.

Yes, I do believe the noise is from the leaf springs. The dealer did mention though that some are experiencing a rattle from the composite bed. You are correct when you said it is built very well.
