Is this normal? 5100 miles, runs great, love it...problem maybe normal to Toyota, but being my first RAV, brakes seem different. Engine off, brake pedal , about 2 inches play and hard . Start engine, pedal gets soft, and can go all the way to the floorboard. Brakes stop very good true and straight. Even though they are soft , the brake stop the RAV, at about 1 inch, at very little pressure. Is that soft pedal with engine on normal?
Iam wondering if that might be a hazard. In a PANIC stop, a big foot like mine might hit both pedals at the same time, and causing engine speed up. I don't want to sound like an idoit, but all my other vehicles had a hard pedal and you knew the brakes were on. In other words, brake pedal stopped before gas pedal might have been inadvertenly touched.
