Klaus I just had my 96 (4cyl, 5 speed, 2wd) 4Runner smog tested in California using the new 'treadmill' test, and there's a chart on my test results. I don't know what everything means and I'm not sure if this is for all vehicles or just my specific type of vehicle. I'll detail the max and averages here, omitting my results: for the 15mph test: HC (PPM) max is 52, avg is 9... CO (%) max is 0.49, avg is 0.02.... NO (PPM) max is 424. avg is 57. for the 25mph test: HC (PPM) max is 36, avg is 7... CO(%) max is 0.46, avg is 0.03... NO (PPM) max is 711, avg is 50.

Hope that is of some help. You might try the

site also, just keep in mind California has stricter requirements. Also try calling international automobile shipping/moving companies for info on where to get technical data- they have experience with it I'm sure. One other thing I can think of would be to post the question to an overseas military newsgroup, as there are a lot of military folks who have shipped vehicles overseas.

Seems to me like the German version of the DMV should have all of that info on hand there, but I can see why you'd be wanting the specifics before you ship. Dee

I own a Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD, 1998 which I want to take with me to Germany. In order to get the car registered there I do need as much technical information as possible.

Toyota so far was not very helpful. They say that they can't provide more than the info from the Monroe sticker.

However, I need more in depth information about the emission rates and so on. The car meets the CA-Requirements......But what are they ?

Who can help me ? What about the E.P.A. ? Would they be a good source of information ?

I'm definitely looking forward to a response.

Kind regards

Klaus
