Has anyone else ever had rotten luck like me right after buying truck?

I have been shopping for a truck for over a month and really wanted a Tundra Access cab. My local dealer called me Thursday and said he had one I might be interested in. It was a 05 double cab with 7700 miles. I went and drove the truck and knew this one was what I wanted even though was a little more than I wanted to put into one.. I figured my budget and it was cutting it close but figured I could handle it. Was 23000 plus tax. I bought the truck and came home and hooked up my lawn equipment (I am a lawn care operator). Got to my first clients and they had gotten somone else to do their place who was 5 bucks cheaper than me. Get to the second account and it was also done by a lowballer. These

2 accounts alone were seven dollars less than my truck payment! Friday I get a bill from heart dr. for 5000! My insurance refused to pay but 50% because I went thru his office instead of hospital (did not know this at the time). I am going to have to sale the truck now because of these 3 things. I called the dealer back and asked them if they would take it back since I had only had it less than 24 hours, you know how that went. I am going to put it on e-bay and the local paper and see if I can move it as bad as I hate to. I have got to be the born loser!

Maybe just a temporary thing and not so much bad luck.

Good price on the double-cab. I paid 24,400 for an '05 access cab last Oct.

Next time read your contract before contacting the dealer - this is

**NOT** a criticism of you. If it says in print you have have x hours to change you mind, they have to honor the contract. If you're a nice guy and ask them (thinking they will do the right thing), they'll eat you alive.

I'm generally disappointed with business ethics - but that's just me.

I went through a broker when I bought mine to avoid the dealer after trying the Costco program and the the dealer I was working with tossed in a $700 alarm I would not pay for. I walked on that deal. I tried another dealer via email and they said I lied about the price a local dealer was advertising (something about a 'value leader' which is car sales jargon).

The only dealer I've liked over the years is a local Saturn dealer - but they only sell Saturns! (grin)

I'm pretty sure you can make payments to the Doc without interest with an in-house payment plan. Briefly explain you don't have $5k to write a check on and ask what's a reasonable payment they would be willing to accept. And in the mean time see if there's an appeals process for the insurance co decision and go down that path.

Best of luck and stay positive.

Join the club. Last October, I created the perfect budget going out over 12 months. Looked again at the money and decided to buy something which didn't make much of a dent in the budget (musical equipment). A week later, my company announced 25% pay cuts. Bye bye budget, hello, living paycheck to paycheck for a while. Then, $800 worth of home repairs blah blah blah.....

Thanks for the replies. Makes you feel not so rained on to know you arnt the only one with bad luck. BTW, I found out today that I shared some of my jinx luck, the salesperson was in the hospital next day after selling me the truck with heart problems. Another GM salesperson I dealt with last week had to be rushed to ER with kidney stones when I finished test driving a gm truck. No joke, the dealership is still talking about me being bad luck!

I?d tell the dealer that their bad luck would change if they did a good turn...like taking my truck back. It?s a Karma thing.
