If your blower motor happens to quit...

1995 T100

Try this first. Remove the electrical connector from the motor and notice if appears to have gotten hot. Mine did - it was blackened and scorched looking. But - I looked elsewhere when I didn't see 12 Volts at the connector. After hours of checking everything else out, I backprobed the connector and lo and behold 12 Volts was there when the blower motor switch was engaged!

Solution? Cut off the connector, crimp on two 1/4 inch insulated female spade lugs. Plug the red striped wire onto the + terminal marked on the motor housing and the black striped wire onto the - terminal. Back in business.

Moral - trust your instincts. I knew that connector looked funky and burnt, but I thought it couldn't be that simple.

By the way - I'm again amazed at how easy Toyotas are to work on. Three bolts right under the dash and the blower motor and fan pull right out.

2 minutes tops. The same job in a Chevy Silverado? Don't even think about it.
