Poll, what is your favorite tire

Okay,

I have to replace the tires on my 96 4runner

99% of all driving is highway, 1% is gravel roads, lots of snow in the winter, but nothing different than half of the US

I have some fairly aggressive tires on the truck now, and they make a lot of road noise, plus they have a terrible shimmy. they have about 60,000 miles on them, (is that decent, or should I expect more, ) (Stock aluminum rims if that makes any difference) I am looking for a quieter, softer riding tire that will remain in balance. so, What have been your favorite tires,

Mich Dun Firestone?? what kind of mileage did you get from them?

Have yet to destroy or wear out the BFGoodrich TA/KO's we put on over 12K ago. They ride smoothly, hardly any wear so far, no road noise that I can hear over my kids' snoring (not that they snore loudly.) They also give quite decent traction in rain, snow and ice. We tried like crazy to get our

2wd to go sideways on the ice and hard snow playing around in a vacant parking lot, and only managed to do some minor swishing- rather disappointing from the 'fun' perspective but at least we know she's surefooted. Majority of our driving is on paved roads in fair weather.

Incidentally, we're using Bilstein shocks along with the TA/KO's. We put the shocks on a couple years before the BFG's, and the Bilsteins contributed the most to the comfort of our ride. The old tires, a no-name brand the dealer went with, were about as rugged in tread pattern as the TA/KO's, but were due for replacement after 25K.

Only "problem" I've found with them is when they grab bits of gravel and there's that clicking sound every time the rock hits the pavement. *grin* I keep thinking I've picked up a roofing nail or something. But I'd rather have them grab than not.
