Re: A Pink Engine Part?

I _think_ you are talking about the color of the fan clutch that holds the fan to the water pump pulley. This is a consumable part that might have been replaced already, and they can be found in a variety of colors on eBay. I can't imagine why anybody would care about the color of the fan clutch, but since they can be had in colors for the same price as black, I suppose it doesn't really matter.

I would not guess that a fan clutch would have been replaced already, but it could have. I would not worry ...

I had a question about a pink colored part in the 6 cylinder engine of a >2006 DC SR5. Found a 2006 with 18000 miles at a good deal around $20k. >They had to bring it in from another area, so I have not had a chance to >drive it yet. If you look closely, you'll see that all the coolant components have pink colored markings.

Ron, My son has a truck just like the one you are looking at. The fan clutch shaft is pink as you have noticed. My guess is the color is how they identify them during assembly. Scott
