Rear differential driveshaft seal - Quick Question

I had to replace the input drive shaft oil seal in my differential (1984 4x4 Toy Pickup).

The question is how tight should I torque the large nut that holds the companion flange and "U" joint bracket.

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Oh boy, you kinda screwed the pooch here. The best way to do this it to mark the nut and oinion stub BEFORE you remove nut and retighten to same spot. Lacking this, you need to tightened it to get proper preload in term of in lbs of toruge required to rotate it which is tuff to do properly with diff installed.
