Any suggestions for what synthetic fluids to use in the auto tranny and rear locker?

Does your owner's manual specifiy Toyota type T-IV ATF?...if so, there aren't any synthetic ATFs that meet that spec. If you wish, you can try your choice of syn Dexron III ATF and add Lubegard black or platinum bottle ATF supplement, but don't tell the dealer you did this. My choices of Dexron ATF are Schaeffer's #204S syn blend ATF (equal performance, less cost), Mobil 1 ATF, and Amsoil ATF.

products are available by mail order from Tim Mills, 800-737-1737,or in larger quantites ($250 minimum order) from a local rep...check the"District Offices" link on the schaefferoil.com page. What gear oil spec is listed in your owner's manual?

Do not add Dexron in place if "T" fluid. Transmission failure could occur. The who reson for this t fluid is the components, both clutches and brakes arew no longer on or off (applied released) they solenoids that control them are linear and can be partially applied and released. There is more slipping and with the wrong fluid, can really shorten component life.
