Thanks Scotty and Bubba for info re 1998 4runner clock problem

Yeah! I got my clock out from behind my panel. It really was easy with your info Scotty. I had to remove 4 panels in the following order (in case anyone else has to get behind the dash panel) -

  1. the panel covering my e brake - lift the centre console cover first
  2. the panel covering the gear shift and 4wd shift
  3. remove the heater control knobs (4) and then pull the heater control panel off. Remove the 2 screws behind this panel
  4. remove the last panel (covering the stereo, heater vents)

And it's that easy. Again - thk you Scotty - couldn't have done it without your info. And Bubba thks for the toyota site you recommended - there is a ton of info there
