1999 Beetle that shows military time

How do i change it to standard time and not military. I was told holding down the hour and minute at the same time for a few seconds would do it but all that does is change the temp. Please advise.

Finally, a good use for a new beetle - clock.

Try in rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled, we're the antique group. Unless you're driving a mexican beetle, but they ended production in '98, no? Seems you need a VAG Com, which costs a couple of hundred dollars -- May be best to take it to a dealer.

No, Mexican production ended in 2003.

Switch off the car

Press and hold both buttons (the hour button and the minute button) longer than 3 seconds

The display shows the new time mode

If the car is on, it changes the temp so the car has to be off for that to work.
