.............When has this newsgroup ever seen someone shamelessly using this group to sell parts and make money more than Kafertoys? He's been advertising a lot of merchandise here in the past month or two. Remember, we're not talking about a private individual who wants his friends to get a good deal. This is his business. There are other places like thesamba.com that have classified sections. This newsgroup isn't supposed to be a marketplace for any commercial entity. I'm not enjoying this crap between him and me any more than you. The bottom line? He has to stop. Until he does, I'm going to keep objecting.

when Kafertoys (a known thief) stops advertising possibly stolen items for sale on RAMVA, the posts about him will stop I'm sure. I know for a fact that Mr. Gavazzi sold some of MY CAR PARTS (which he stole from me) to someone else (who's getting served with a Court Summons to explain why he purchased stolen parts).

He's a scumbag, and I won't be silent as he continues to scout for fresh victims; he got me for $10k.

are you going to personally vouch for Mr. Gavazzi if he rips someone else off? IOW, will you pay for the $ lost if this happens? Enquiring minds want to know.

I KNOW he's a thief; I'm curious as to how/why you are taking a different stance on this topic.

I think that it's a good idea to keep people aware of a potential thief in here, but I also think it can be run into the ground. Someone (I forget who it was) made a suggestion before that I thought was a really good one concerning this and I'd like to expand on that suggestion a little bit. I understand there is a web page being developed right now that details a particular person's known activities. How about if that gets finished up (although it will probably wind up getting updated a lot with new information and maybe should include information about more than just that one person) and the people who have a problem with that particular person can put a link to that website in their signature? Then when someone new comes on here and asks a "newbie" question the concerned person can respond to them tactfully with the link to that website in their signature. Of course the signature would be there on every post as an unobtrusive, constant reminder, but would be most noticeable to newbies who had not just gotten used to it to the point where they no longer noticed it. Something like this...

I agree, but I ask a simple question

What's worse

1) A known thief trolling for new victims?

or

2) knowing the thief is doing this and not saying anything about it?

I'll stay silent if someone wants to put their $ behind Mr. Gavazzi and pay up if someone gets ripped off. I do not expect anyone to do this; why not? I have known several guys that were "friends" with known thieves. Being "friends" with them ended as soon as $ was involved with the bad-guy. It's one thing to hang out/drink beer with someone in your free-time, quite another to back him up or trust him with YOUR MONEY. Anyone want to step up to the plate and vouch for Mr. Gavazzi with your wallet?

This 56 deck lid was on the 0val baja I was talking about. I have spent hours on restoring this back to show quality. And yes VW restoration is my buisiness and I know how hard it is to find good original parts for our VW's and so yes I would like to think I'm doing everyone here a favor when I, because its also my business to find cars and parts that have been hidden and horded for years, out to people in this and other groups. I have sould hundreads of parts over the last 4 years both in person and shipping. As you have heard by people like KaferDave I can honestly say 98% have been very happy with the parts I have sold. I would never sell anything that I don't think could be used to build a show car ,My Quality. So getting back to the deck lid. Even if you had a deck lid in fair shape that needed a few hours of body work , it would cost you at least the $300 or more to get restored and primed in this condition. I have pics of it as I'm repairing it. I was told the last original oval vert lid I restored sold for over $1500 on E-bay

I agree. I will not take a position on the is Mario a crook or is he not a crook, but I do tire of these constant postings for his business, not even John C does that or anyone else on the list who has a VW related business. Sell on the Samba ll you want but keep it off the NG.

.................You should stop spamming RAMVA for your own personal gain and instead sell that deck lid on E-bay. Unless, you're unwilling or unable to abide by the E-bay rules that regulate the transactions there...............hmmmm.
