67 Bus: Need a Freeze Plug

Can anyone help ?? Called my mechanic today to make arrangements to have the wheel bearings replaced on the rear drivers side and he tells me I am going to need a freeze plug. Anyone have one to sell me ?? Or know of where I can find one ?? Haven't searched yet, thought I would start here.

...eh??? Feeze plugs are items designed to be pushed out of the block of a water cooled car when the water freeazes so as not to crack the bluck...anywho in reality they are plugs foir the passageways machined in the block...while the VW has clugs pressed into the ooil galleys,I haven't ever heard them reffered to as freeze plugs, and never really seen one come out on its own accord..they are removed to clean the galleys when building an engine, and the remaiing holes tapped and pluigged. This freeze plug you menation does not compute. Please identify the location of said plug.

Maybe I mis-heard or remembered .. He said that there is a plug - something that has to be replaced when the wheel bearings are replaced ... DAMN .. I guess I should call him again .. He has to pull this or that to get to the wheel bearings and this "plug" is known to leak gear oil.

Yes, it looks exactly like a watercooled "freeze plug"; of course this one would be metric sized.

Well, you may need them too. Plug the P/N I gave you into the SEARCH field on the web site (without any spaces). Jim
