69 Ghia Semi Auto conversion Question

Hi, Inkow many have probably enountered this before but I would like to convert my 69 Ghia into a standard. I have everything I need ready to go except for the tube for the clutch cable Tube. It does not exsist in this car. I do not want to go out and find another car to take a floor pan from (or go through the hassles of that) so does anyone have any other suggestions? perhaps someone has done this before.

reply here or send an e-mail.

Thanks Charles.

Basically two ways to go if you want to keep your floor: 1. Hydraulic clutch operating system. (maybe easiest to install but possibly costs more in the short and long run) 2. Install metal line in the tunnel for the clutch cable. Requires cutting a window in the RS of the tunnel to install front bracket of tube. If you go this route you either need to find a long enough metal tube or possibly two metal tubes (brake or fuel lines) joined together. Make sure your cable can easily go through the tubes before installation by welding.

It has been too long of a time since I have done #2. ;-) later, dave

I went to a industrial steel store and bought a length of steel tubing & installed/welded in the same location as the factory used. The clutch tube is not in your car but shine a flash light down the tunnel and you'll see the notches & brackets where the clutch tube should go. Make sure the tubing you buy is large enough to accept a clutch cable and is not too thick too bend slightly.

Any one have suggestions on Hydraulic set up (Brand or Modle), I'm not that concerned about cost but would like one designed more for the Ghia 71 T1 pan--but all seem to refer only to sand rails in the rags. Car may also get buss tranny.
