71 Autostick More Problems

A new problem has developed. I did a google search and found the cause which is a short. But I don't know how to trace the short.

The problem is a sound like the horn being on when I turn the ky and the generator light blinking whern I use my turn signal. Google brought up a single black wire as causing the problem. Mine I belive has a fuse in the middle of the wire. Can be disconnected. Is that is the correct wire I need? I disconnected the fuse and still no change. I disconnected where it plugs into and still no change. How do I loose the sterring column to check it where the blinker handle is?

Thanks Steven

I think you have been led astray (or far afield) by GOOGLE this time.

If the horn buzzing is coming from behind the dash (rather than up front where the horn is), look for a fuse in the main fuse block which is making poor contact. You won't be able to tell by a quick look. Take the fuses out and clean the fuse holder contacts then replace with fresh fuses (or at least polish the old ends).

The advise I was going on was one you gave someone with the same problem as mine. The nois eis not from the horn but the square black box that controls the blinking.

Thanks Steven

I stand by what I just wrote. Clean/replace the fuses. Jim
