Alt. Stand Oil deflector position

Hey people...putting my MexiLongblock together and would like to know the correct position for the oil deflector louvers inside the Alt./oil filler Stand. Up, down? Opening facing toward the fuel pump or toward cylinder 2 on the right. Thanks , I have seen them marked "this side up" but can't recall.

Make the part that is off the plane of the baffle, hang down and toward the filler......I realize that doesn;t sound so swift...............Ok.................let me try again.

Louvers downward...................opening of the louver are to be aimed away from the crankshaft.................how's that?

I understand *well*....................LOL

This is how every one I have taken apart has been placed. However I must say,....................I can't find my Bentley at the moment............wife is already cleaning the house like a madwoman...............ARRRRGGGGGH!

Like to never found my damn cap.

Maybe some words why engineers presumably put the=20 louvers that way ;)

Louvers downwards so that when you pour oil in the filler or it raises from the crank case, it will be able to pour down back more easily to the case.

Openings to the right so that oil flying from the crank (coming from left to right) would not be able to fly through the opening to the = filler neck.

I remember that now by reasoning. Might be wrong explanations, but after all I remember the correct way (that Bentley shows). This is the way my brain remembers the best.
