Its far cheaper to buy the bilge blowers directly from West Marine or Boats US - think they are like $15 each..

My heater boxes melted the blowers. Done to a turn.Don't waste your time. Try bus blowers.

Where in line did you install them David? I only ask because I installed a two blower kit under the back seat on a customers car by written instructions. His heat worked great and I did re-inspect everything before he left, but if this might be a problem then I would like to know so I can recommend something different. This is why I try to keep up on any and everything. There's always something wrong to learn about....lol

Unitil now, the defroster of the VW bug has been pretty pitiful. But at Barney's Import Parts we've changed that. We've created a product that delivers so much airflow to your defroster, it will stand streamers up from your dash vents! This patented system, using stock heater boxes, adds two powerful recirculating fans which: Produce Higher Temperature Levels Eliminate Engine Compartment Fumes Eliminate Road Dust Are not Dependent on Engine RPM Have Low, Medium and Full Blast Options $129.95 plus $9.00 Shipping & Handling

My car has had a forced air fan (6V) under the back seat bottom on the left side since I got the car used in the mid 1970s... hardly something that new... !

The noise they create prompted me to install them just after the heater boxes.I wired them to the relay that normally supplies the rear window defogger.(It doesn't work so no harm done) The heat reduced them to a puddle in short order.Okay, says I, so I bought another pair and installed under the seat.Sorry to say, piss poor heat and defogging ability. And noisy as hell.Out they go. Bought a Southwind off Ebay.Installed it in front trunk.I can now drive in midwinter in my skivies if I want to.End of experiment.

Here in central NY you need all the heat you can muster in winter.I just found that stock heater boxes and add-ons don't work for me.
