Choosing the right rims

I have a 66 bug with stock metal fenders. It has a 2' dropped spindle front end and also adjustable torsion bars and shorter shocks.. The rear is stock.

I want to get some new wheels but not sure what width will work. I see 4.5 and 5 inch rims to be most common.

Woulds the 5 inch wide up front still allow me to have a good turning ability (no rubbing on the fenders?

Appreciate any help. I am looking at buying some Budnik rims custom drilled for my 4 lug drums.

Thanks, Mike

Hahaha

2" drop AND 2" narrowed with smart car tyres on is the way to go :-)

I've got a 66 with 5.5" rims on it. They are the American Eagle "Wide

5" fuchs. They look AWESOME and I don't have any issues with rubbing. My front tires are 145's. I'm sure I could run up to a 195 without any problem.
