Farmington NC show

what a great show today. There was alot of VWs there today, could have been near 200. I haven't seen a turn out like this in many years. Very nice weather. And yes another one of the VW's I did won.

Big surprise, a dead on sideways shot that doesn't show shit... except I can see the front hood seems to have some sort of fit issue. Where the f*ck is the top? Oh, right, probably sitting awaiting some bondo patches in your, er, "shop." Riiiiiiiight.

Congratulations Mario. I must confess that I didn't realize that Farmington had started giving out trophies for "Restoration with Most Body Filler". How do they grade that, "Body Filler as a percentage of total car weight" or is it graded on the basis of surface area, i.e. "Percentage of Body Surface Covered by Body Filler"? Either way, I suspect you were at the top of the class. Who sponsors that award,

3M/Bondo?

Once again, congratulations. If only Joan had realized that she was paying for a potential Farmington winner she might have been more appreciative.

From what I have read, you just DONT SEE...full stop? You certainly cant read and write properly, so that may be down to the lack of vision as well?

On a curious note, what does pethedic mean?. Is that an American word, or did you mean "Pathetic"? A word that DOES seem to describe yourself?

Must have been a third in class... far from a "win"...but congrats anyway... not bad for a sand and spray...

my vision is better then 20/20 but thanks for your concern

to get back on topic Dave's 70 vert was in real bad shape. the heater channels and rails including complete luggage tray, wheel well ,kick paneland of coarse floor pans. I think he was in shock over everything at the show. He also has a rail and has had VW's in the past including a 57 baja.(I think it was done in the early 70"s when ovals were a "dime a dozen")

You can tell alot of people has done alot of work to have the nice cars that were there. They even had the 1963 rag-top beetle spinning on a pedistal.

There also seemed to be alot from out of state . I hope we see this continue and grow. I'll do my part.

You keep doing your part, and people will flock away from the VW scene. Douche bag.

VintageWerks aka Mario Gavazzi is a well know crook in the vintage VW community. He'll overcharge, take too long, steal parts and/or your car and does substandard work. If you have an automobile that needs service, do not use this business.

I am the owner of the 70 convertible.I have been getting emails today saying: while it was not right out stated! BUT by the way it was worded that the work done on MY car was done at and by Mario.I have read what was said and I am not here to dog on anyone.I just want to clear things up.While it is true that the car did need ALOT of work as stated, luggage tray, wheel well ,kick panels heater channels and of coarse floor pans.I did all the work myself,in my shop.Along with stripping paint and so on.I took the car to have the finished body work ( what was minor) and paint done.I have never painted and didnt want to practice on this one.I have always done my own work on all my cars. After it was painted I took it back to my shop and finished everything else myself.Wireing, interior, seats,so on.The only other thing on the car I DIDN"T do was the top.Yes it has one on it now.Yes I was surprised to win 2nd in my class as there was ( many ) very nice convertables there in my class. I built it as a nice restoration and not a show car anyway. Also the hood does fit good and there is NO rust or BONDO in this car now!! LOL Again I am not here to dog anyone, just want to set things straight.

I think your convertible looks super nice! I used to know a painter who could paint better than most and I had him paint my 1976 Beetle that same color lime green as the factory. The paint came out looking much better than the factory paint job, but his body work skills needed a little help. Most could not tell but I could since I do a little body work. I hate it but I do it! lol

You have done well snipped-for-privacy@aol.com and thanks for clearing up the story about your Convertible.

Keep it in good shape and enjoy it. One day I hope to find another one to replace my silver '67 that I did not want anymore due to rusty floors. I have found a '79 SB Convertible with less than 3K miles on it. It is now running fine, it is gorgeous, heated garage kept but the first owner must have sold the original seats. WTF???? I wonder about the original mileage too! But the car is almost perfect except for the slightest ding on the engine lid and some scrub marks on the RR fender. I would need a dedicated garage if the owners ever decide to sell it to me!

Yes, if you only treated every paying customer fairly, we wouldn't have this discussion:

- look for Joan's bug. You said Joan's bug had "show winning potential" as well and had hardly any filler, all the rot having been replaced by metal by you. Of course, we all know the truth now, after MetalWiz' analysis of your work. Hope you're right about the Bondo, Dave, but I doubt it.

Yes, Mario, this is your personal google site in that people will find links like that when your name is googled. Well played. You are a genius. (where's my rolling eyes emoticon??)

Sorry that we were misled on your car, as Mario's initial post said otherwise. As you'll soon find out, if you don't know already, Mario is a crook, liar, thief and rat bastard. He stole nine grand from a lady for a car that he slathered with bondo; hell, the frame head was hanging on by a thread of rust when she finally got it out of his shop.

Please notice that Mario claimed to have done your car in his first post; I highly recommend that you tell him to go f*ck himself, as he didn't set it straight later on, only used his usual "puppets" rhetoric.
