Just painted, thought I'd share some pics

Ramva,

Well, today was the big day. My 1960 ragtop has finally been painted after almost six months of metal therapy. Now, its time to put it back together again. (The fun part) I should be finished with the car in the spring. Havn't driven a classic bug in more than four years. Started this project in the Spring of 2000.

The paint came out pretty good, car hasnt been colored sanded or rubbed out yet.

Enjoy the pics!

$7000.00 (and yes, I'm still married)

To justify the costs, I must tell u that the body was in pretty sad shape. The rear firewall and all metal underneath the rear window was replaced. as well as another front apron (from the gas tank forward) was also replaced. The whole car was bead blasted. I had them block the fenderwells and underside of the body. The driverside heater channel was pretty much replaced.

Alot of work. A friend of mine did it, and there was hundreds of hours put into the bodywork. I still think I got a good deal for the effort that was put into it.

This was my first car, I got it when I was 15 and a half, so I couldn't fathom going with something else.

You only live once.
