OT I'm not sayin'...... (warning: political content)

.................Your right. I'm letting myself get sucked in...........sigh.

.........Bush #2 is a stubborn guy and won't likely change course. Is that good or bad? I do know that Kerry has made such a big deal about how tough he thinks he is that the course of events in Iraq won't be changed too much if he becomes President. His own supporters will try to influence him toward pulling out but I don't think that he'd want to because of the 'flip-flop' stigma that he's trying to shake off. If he loses to Bush, it'll be a moot point anyway. We're going to have to bite the bullet either way and support our soldiers through thick and thin. There is no practical alternative regardless of the public opinion in Western Europe. I'm still optimistic that the new government in Iraq will continue to get stronger and more effective in the war against these insurgents. That's our only real hope, in the end.

Nope, those opinions won't mean squat if you vote on the 3rd. ;-)

:-) All in fun, Tim. Just trying to lighten the mood a little. I'll be glad when it's all over with.

Thanks, Scott. I'll take it that "rec.autos.makers.vw.aircooled Is intended for discussion of issues related to the use and ownership of aircooled automobiles manufactured by Volkswagen" means what it means.

................In actuality, if off-topic posts are marked OT in the subject header and if the thread doesn't evolve into an out of control flamefest, it doesn't always mean what it means. Maybe it's more of a recommendation or guideline or something...............lol

Yeah... just wait until a flame war about whether flaps are needed on an aircooled engine starts... or if a hard start relay is really a fix for a starter...

that gets old too.

I'm assuming you just needed a post to reply to and mine happened to be it because I never questioned why Americans are free or what my own opinion on the war was. Just trying not to take that personally.

Shaggie, that is a funny fairy tale. Now in the real world I've already voted so I won't get involved in a make-believe father and son trying to tell the rest of the world what to do and beating up their neighbors......Wait a minute, that father and son wouldn't have the same first name would they?

Think about this- you can be drafted or join the Armed Forces at 18 but you can't vote till you are 21, hmmm, nice plan.

Too bad my vote is not an electoral vote and actually count for something. Look at Florida.

To all potential voters from a Concerned Citizen: When President Clinton was in office, I had a nice house, a good job with many benefits, health insurance and even 2 vacation homes. In short, things were good. Since President Bush has been in office, I have lost my job and my health insurance. I have also lost 2 sons in Iraq. To add insult to injury I am now homeless and have lost everything I once had. You and I must be willing to do whatever John Kerry asks us to do. We must remove President Bush and get a Democrat back in the White House. Please consider my compelling personal story and vote John Kerry come election day. Sincerely, Saddam Hussein

I am not particularly fond of Kerry, nothing against hime but I think it is obvious that Bush is not the right answer so Kerry it is.

And if you don't vote, you have no right to bitch and whine afterwards.

That's what I was taught anyway :)

And you can't rent a car until you are 25. I remember after 9/11, seeing a picture in the paper of a young guy was stranded at the airport because he was to young to rent at 19.

I know that not everyone agrees on the Iraq war etc... People will fight over just about anything, from oil to religion. Here in suburban Cincy, people are threatening people who have spoke out against a local school levy, and one guy had acid thrown on his pickup truck. Makes you wonder about people. Article here.
