picture of front beam adjusters

Can anyone refer me to pictures and or description of proper front beam adjusters installed, the directions I have are almost impossible to understand, or maybe I'm just not getting it. Thanks, Douglas

While I do not have any pics, I can explain how they are suppose to be install.

I will attempt an ascii pic.......

Upper beam tube _________ / \ | |_ | | \ | | \ /____ Side view of the adjuster | |___\ \ | | |__| ------- lock nut \_________/ || || -------- Adjuster bolt

Lower Beam Tube _________ / \ | |_ | | \ | | \ /____ Side view of the adjuster | |___\ \ | | |__| ------- lock nut \_________/ || || -------- Adjuster bolt

This would be looking at the beam from the passenger side view with the front pointing to the right. Make sure that the bolt that you use for the adjusting is mounted pointing down and that the pivot point of the adjuster pushes down on the adjusting bolt. This is the proper way to install them. When you turn the adjusting bolt in or up, it will add height to your beam and when you adjust it down or out it will allow the front end to come down.

Looking at it below, the beam front is facing to your right and the rear of the car will be to the left. As you put your car back on the ground, the tires will push up on the control arms. The control arms will cause the torsion bars to rotate in a clockwise direction. With the adjusters install as shown if you screw the adjusting bolt out it will allow your front end to lower and vis versa.

Now as far as where to locate the pivot point can be real tricky. I scored a line across the tube where the original torsion bars were fixed in the middle. This will give you a reference for installing the adjuster. The adjusters I bought had two points that you could use on the pivot one gives you 0 to 2 inches of adjustment and the other gives you 2 to 4 inches of adjustment. These points are about and inch or a little more a part. To get the most adjustment from your adjusters, you should use the lower hole in the pivot as the starting point for lowering the front end, top hole for raising the front end.

I would also recommend doing one tube at a time to aid in keeping things straight and square.
