I was thinking more like John Henry's split rear 1950 Type 1. If I were filthy rich I'd first restore my beloved convertible to as new condition, and I'd collect a few more ACVWs...for the kids, of course. And if I were feelthy steenkin' rich I'd expand the collection to include other versions of the People's Car...a 2CV, Model T, jne.

Ha! That's what I did, except for the steenking rich part and the multiple VWs part and the crushing part and the San franCisco part and the Seattle part. Oh, wait. I didn't do much of any of that. MMM. Just got back in from cooking some chicken thighs on the charcoal grill. And some Nathan's hotdogs, and Kim's making garlic bread out of a loaf of Italian bread and some kinda pasta salad. Oh gosh it smells so good in here. Windows all open with fans on so we're air-cooled. Not all Fridays rule, but this one does for me right now. :-)

We used to bake Pot Roast on Harleys. Wrap the sucker in alumium foil, jam it between the cylinder and at the end of the day - dinner!. 'course, gas leaks would really mess up the recipe. The ACVW could probably feed a whole car full. Come on, folks - let's have 'em!

Before I went to bed last night I got hungry again so I fried up a couple of slices of onion in some butter and chopped up one of the chicken thighs I'd cooked on the grill earlier with soy sauce and mixed it in the pan with the onions once the onions had softened up a litle and browned some. Got the whole mixture heated up and cut off a huge chunk of the italian garlic bread from earlier, then cut some bacon cheddar cheese we had into slices and made a big ol' sandwich out of all of it. The cheese has chunks of bacon in it, and is smokey flavored. Man, that made a good sandwich. If I ever get to the point in life where I have a lot of time to cook for myself then I'm afraid I'm gonna wind up being a BIG boy. Hmmm.. I wonder what I should cook today.

Nurse: 200 or less...

Me: well that isn't *too* bad then

Nurse: and your triglycerides are 508

Me: what should those be?

Nurse: 200 or less

Me: yikes....

Yeah, I'm gonna start watching what I eat really soon. Of course it depends on what the doctors are saying at the time as to what is healthy. One week it's low fat, next week it's no carbs. I think I'll combine a few of those diets together so that they basically allow me to eat as much as I want of whatever I want. Yeah, that's it. I'll do that starting right now. Now I'm watching what I eat to be sure it follows certain parts of several diets that claim to be healthy. Gotta run to the store now. I hear that beer is healthy for the heart and I need to pick up some country ham to go with it so I'll have plenty of protein and not much carbs. But I hear that carbs are good for energy so I'd better make up a batch of cornbread with jalapenos and cracklins to munch on with it. I read somewhere that sushi can make you ill or something, so I promise I won't eat any of that. Now where'd I put that "The Pecan Pie Diet" book...? ;-)
