Re: stock '70 1600cc lifers?

Is 1:1 factory or is 1.1:1? What would higher ratio rocker do to an >otherwise stock 1600CC single port?

hello Gus...the lifters have nothing to do with lift at the valve...it is the rocker ratio that you speak of that does(i assume you actually know this, and that is how yo uknow of the "ratios")....a higher ratio on the rocker arms would allow a little better breathing, but don't expect miracles...unless you plan to upgrade your valve springs also i wouldn't(personally) go over 1.25:1 rockers...with *no* other mods to the engine, you would be better off to keep the change in your pocket till you were ready to do some real upgrades...a package type upgrade...if you change one part of the system, then the parts "downstream" also need attention... well....hmm...technically speaking even if the lifter were longer the lift(amount the valve moved *due to the cam lobe) would not change...500 lift(just an example) at the lobe will produce the same lift no matter what lifter you use....now spring compression would change in the "hypothetical"(and as you know assinine :') )you describe, but not overall lift...(how's that for smartass?)

congrats on the exhaust fix...(and tooL is not spelled too...) LOL... J
