Synthetic Wheel Bearing Grease?

Hi! Is Synthetic Wheel Bearing grease OK to use? Some say it liguifies and runs out. Thanks! Any help is appreciated!

I'm sure that it would be fine. It's generally expensive stuff, though, so I wouldn't buy it over a good dino grease, which also works just fine.

I could imagine that there might be some cheapo stuff somewhere that is really poor quality, but I seriously doubt it. This just sounds like someone's uninformed ramblings. If they mentioned a particular brand then I'd consider it, but as a blanket statement I don't give it much credit.

I used synthetic grease in a horse trailer and the front bearings of my

74 SB and I think it is great stuff. The main advantage is it remains at about the same consistancy at hot or cold and is a little slicker. The horse trailer was used about 6 years with no problems. Dennis

I got 3 tubes of AMSoil synthetic Racing Grease, at about $10.00US per tube, from aircooled.net. Thanks! I planned to use it for the wheel bearings on my 1973 VW Beetle. they say to put 30 grams of grease on each side, left and right, of the rear wheel bearings. I thought I might get a dieters scale and weigh it out.

Who ever told you the synthetic stuff liquifies is probably just used to using the old fiberous type wheel bearing grease. I kinda like the old stuff myself but mainly because I still have a big can of it. : )
