240Ti lost power

Hello,

this is a repost - sorry.

I could not get my news reader to pull down the messages and can't read of any earlier response.

In a nutsheel, the '84 240ti was running mostly Ok when I parked it for a few weeks.

Now it will start, but doesn't build enough power to move, or will move if I rev the engine and slip the clutch, but barely, and then goes dead if I am not real careful.

It blows more blue smokke than before if that is of significance.

I wonder how to trouble shoot this?

Maybe some switch went out that goofs up the turbo stuff?

I believe it is getting fuel ok, and air.

It is getting dam*ed cold now, going down to 20 tonight here in atlanta. I don't relish working out of doors.

But if anyone has any ideas.....otherwise off it goes on a tow truck.

Thanks again.

First of all check all the air hoses between the turbo and the intake manifold, it's common for one of them to get a leak, then check the timing belt, it's possible it jumped a tooth or two, a little error will have a big effect.
