'95 850 wagon - Sunroof & Reverse light issues?

I recently bought a '96 850 5spd wagon and have two issues with it:

1) Sunroof not flush?!

When it is closed the front of the sun roof sticks up a little from the roof while the rear is about 1 cm too low so that it isn't flush with the roof either.

When driving on the highway I slid open the inside panel and there was a lot of wind noise. When I push the sunroof button to tilt it up, as the back raises there is definitely a spot where the wind noise completely stops before the rear continues to go up. At that point I tried to close the inside panel, but it wouldn't shut the whole way.

So far it hasn't leaked or anything, but I'm worried about this winter, having snow or melted snow pooling in the area where the sunroof isn't flush. Is there a way to adjust it?

2) Reverse lights don't work.

I just noticed that when the car is in reverse gear (this is a manual transmission car) the rear reverse lights do not go on. I checked the fuse and the bulbs and they all seem fine. Any idea what is wrong and how I can fix it, or at least verify what is wrong so my mechanic doesn't waste time?

Any help with either issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

For the sunroof, check out

in the Repairs section.

The reverse switch could be the culprit, in the console. If the switch is bad, then no current will be supplied to the lights when its in reverse.

I personally find that using AC reduces gas consumption and prevents hay fever. Opening a sunroof increases gas consumption and drives my allergies crazy, hence I have no use for a sunroof. I usually go the factory to buy my Volvo and save about $4,000 doing it since all cars shipped to the USA seem to have a sunroof which, to me, has the only atribute of leaking and increasing gas consumption for me.

I just had a similar problem. Had a stick catch in the track and the sunroof was misaligned like you say. It is an easy fix that a easonably competant home mechanic should be able to fix with not much more than a screwdriver and a torx driver (in your toolkit)if your sunroof is like mine from Randy & Valerie from Randy & Valerie __ __ \ \ / / \ \/ / \__/olvo 1993 960 Estate
