Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful in the past. Being I'm a 35 year old Volvo newbie, balancing trying to restore this car, while playing husband and daddy to a 5 year-old boy, I wish there was more time in the day to tinker with cars.
Now that my 1987 740 GLE engine seems to be running well, it's time to start working on the finer things. I have to decide whether to convert from R12 to R134 and with that being said - try and figure out why I don't get much blow from the vents. I mainly get hot air.
I've read up in the Haynes manual, and (after I get a new ignition switch), need to check (drum-roll.......) vacuum!
I see there are a few vacuum motors in the dash?????? Is this right?
So -- here goes. Vacuum leaks seem like a needle in a haystack for me, so if anyone can start pointing me in the right direction I'd be much obliged.
Where to check under the hood? Where in the cab? What would prevent the flaps from not making more air come out the vents? My blower motor does make a little rumbling, so I'll change it to be sure.
So, the question "del dia" is where are the many vacuum locations I should check for my air conditioning well-being?
Many thanks!
