My wife my son and myself drive Volvos .Recently I helped a young lad fix his Holden Commodore ,a GM Opel modified .The original Commodores broke across the firewall on our tests as well the dampers were not up to standard .As for brakes better to open the door and use your shoes to stop. The engines moved in many directions back and forth and with sloppy tolerances every which way .Seats went through the floor and rust destroyed what little integrity there was left in the shell. There is a weakness across the back axel which allows the car to break up in a side on accident, with this being a very common picture of the car in two pieces .Oil leaks from bad seals as well as number 6 cylinder failure is common .So this is why we drive Volvos easy to fix ,electrics are a pain but do able strong body brillant brakes low tyre wear reasonable fuel economy and my sons 240 auto isn't able to do burnouts .Our Turbo ,my wife and I give us plenty of power to get out of trouble if needs be . As well s\h they are a reasonable purchase .As long as you keep away from the Volvo main dealers for repairs .
