Rear Facing Child Seats for 98 V70

Does anyone know where I can purchase seats for a V70 in the Uk other than Volvo?

Do you mean new or second hand? I doubt whether anyone makes 3rd party new ones - but you could try someone like German, Swedish & French on 020 89178

If you're looking for 2nd hand, you may find a breaker's yard that's breaking a car after a front-end accident. One place which specialises in Volvo parts is CP Motors of Tamworth on 01827-894983. Their on-line database at

claims to have somegenuine Volvo new rear-facing seats - but from past experience, it may notbe up to date. But it's worth contacting them.

Mine came from Halfords. The one in my wife's car came from Mama's and Papa's. The only thing to be wary of is that the belts are long enough for your selected seat - but the ones in my V70 seem plenty long enough for the Britax seat. My Land Rover has only just got long enough belts for the same seat.

If you have ISOFIX then I would only use the Volvo seat, not a general one. I've seen some very scary footage of ISOFIX seats in crash tests

- it seems it is critical to match the seat to the car, which seems to me to be the exact opposite of what ISOFIX was meant to do!

I assume from the heading that the OP wants seats equivalent to the factory-fit option - which provide a third row as it were - in the bootspace - facing backwards. This is not the same thing as a Britax child seat - which seems to be aimed at *very* young children.
