S70 warning light!!!!

The car is an S70 2.5LPT 20v CD While I was driving home tonight the "Fault in engine electronic system" light came on. Everything appears to be OK except that the radiator fan runs on full speed for about three minutes after the engine is switched off, even when the engine is cold. I have noticed that for the last week or so the heater is slow to start working.

Is it a problem with a quick fix? or do I have to pay an expert to look at it?

The best thing is to get the code read. The warning light is indicating one exists, and hopefully an OBD-II compliant reader will be able to read it (in North America this will work for sure). What the problem might be is a thermostat that doesn't close properly, thus the engine takes too long to warm up. The computer expects that the engine will warm up at a certain rate, if it doesn't then it assumes the engine temperature sensor is bad. So it sets a code for engine temperature sensor, and runs the fan at half speed all the time, and also runs the fan after the engine is shut off.
