V50, High Performance radio and AUX-IN

I just bought a V50 with High Performance audio system.

Question: Is there a AUX-IN option on this system (eg. I want to connect my iPod to the AUX for in-car use) Does anybody know any solutions to connecting external audio sources to the audio system ?

Thanks !

Stein

Mee too!

However I have the SC816 in the S70. Can an ipod be plugged in direct?

Yeah, got the belkin tuner and the tape thing, but would prefer a line in!

The 'tape-thin' is not an option i Scandinavia. Noone delivers a cassette-player fro audio entertainment systems. Only CD-players and occasionally MD-players.

We are stuck with with FM transmitters (like this

Have you seen the iPod interface in the new BMW's? you can even use your steering wheel mounted audio controls to adjust the unit, which is plugged in thru a jack in the glove box... Looks like a great setup.

I'd suggest buying an FM transmitter from the USA or Canada - from and internet store, and shipping it over. No one would really be able to know unless someone who cared was right beside your car and tuned into your iPod being played over the FM frequencies.

If you get an FM transmitter, make sure it's a proper digital one, not one of the cheaper analogue-tuned ones. The one my mate has drifts all over the place and is basically unusable unless you want to stop every 3 minutes to retune it. I bought a Griffin one which fits the iPod perfectly and works really well. Ebay has loads, but you can buy direct from Griffin's US website for shipment to UK.

What signal is carried from an autochanger to the head unit? Is it just a digital feed to the DAC in the headunit, or is there a line-level analogue signal in there?
